UHY LLP, one of the leading tax and business consulting firms in the Capital Region, today presented The Foundation for Ellis Medicine with a $2,500 grant to support the new Bringing Baby Home initiative at Ellis Medicine’s Bellevue Woman’s Center in Schenectady, N.Y.
The donation provides for the purchase of 33 car seats that will be made available to new parents in great need of the equipment at the time of discharge after giving birth. The Bringing Baby Home program is designed to serve as a valuable resource for parents to safely transport newborns during the first trip home and into their early childhood.
“UHY LLP is dedicated to serving the community in which we have been proud to operate for more than 50 years. Bellevue Woman’s Center is an outstanding resource for new and growing families, and we are pleased to support the Bringing Baby Home program,” said UHY LLP Office Managing Partner – Capital Region Howard Foote. “This donation will help provide important security to the parents of today while ensuring the safety of the adults of tomorrow. On behalf of the UHY family that prides itself on delivering the ‘next level of service’, UHY is proud to help the hospital protect the next generation of families.”
The new car seats will be available to parents who demonstrate a strong need through a collaborative assessment process conducted by Ellis Medicine nursing and social work staff. The car seats will also be available for mothers of premature babies who may not be prepared for an infant’s early arrival. The Bringing Baby Home initiative is made available through The Foundation for Ellis Medicine’s Corporate Partners Program.
“Ellis Medicine is extremely grateful for this generous donation that will be used to help dozens of families in need across the Capital Region,” said President and Chief Executive Officer of Ellis Medicine Paul Milton. “The Bringing Baby Home initiative will ease the mind of numerous parents transporting their child throughout the community. We are pleased to create a program that will continue to protect the children beyond our hospital doors.”
Bellevue Woman’s Center, a service of Ellis Medicine, is the region’s only inpatient facility dedicated to the care of women and infants.
