New York City's Corey Massella joined a panel of top M&A professionals for a moderated webinar hosted by the NYBB Group. Corey presented insights on the present and future states of M&A Middle Market advisory in New York and on Long Island, highlights including:
- "I’m seeing a mixed bag. It depends upon the stage of the transactions and the industries. Some have been pausing; some are changing the terms of the transactions as a result of the changes from the lending institutions supporting the buyers; and some are adding or extending on earn outs."
- "There’s going to be tremendous opportunities once you’re stabilized and I think utilizing M&A is going to be really big."
- "Whether you’re a buyer or a seller, it’s the same thing. You’ve got to have a strategic plan; you’ve got to look at what’s called business viability. Where are your strengths in your businesses? Where are your weaknesses? Then look at your competition. If you look at your competition and then at yourself, you may have strengths and they may have weaknesses that are complementary."
