The Marijuana Regulatory Agency issued an order prohibiting recreational marijuana retailers from purchasing cannabis products supplied by caregivers (roughly 60% of medical and recreational marijuana being sold across the state). The order, effective April 8, cuts the time period caregivers were initially allowed to sell recreational product to retailers which was through September 30,2020. The MRA bulletin does allow medical retailers to purchase cannabis products from caregivers, as licensed growers continue ramp up production, but emphasizes that caregiver produced or derived product may NOT enter the recreational adult-use market.
