MEDICAL MARIJUANA PROVISIONING CENTERS FILE LAWSUITS AGAINST LARA

Several provisioning centers and two grow operations in Detroit have filed lawsuits against the state office of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Executive Director Andrew Brisbo and the city of Detroit in the Ingham County Court of Claims. The plaintiffs were pre-approved for retail licenses, but LARA stopped processing the licenses once Detroit opted out of the adult-use program on November 12. In the first couple weeks the state reported $3.1 million in sales, without any of that coming from Detroit, the largest market in the state.
