Governor Whitmer has signed an executive order (EO-2020-26) that delays the deadline to file Michigan income tax returns. By signing the order, the State of Michigan filing and paying deadlines will now match the federal deadline extension that was announced last week.
The order extends:
- An annual state or city income tax return that is due on April 15, 2020 until July 15, 2020.
- An annual state or city income tax return that is due on April 30, 2020 until July 31, 2020.
- A state or city income tax payment, including an estimated tax payment, that is due April 15, 2020 until July 15, 2020.
- A state or city income tax payment, including an estimated tax payment, that is due April 30, 2020 until July 31, 2020.
The order automatically extends the above dates, so no additional forms are required to be filed.
