Through a competitive bid process, UHY’s Government practice was selected as one of 10 preferred professional firms out of 37 bidders and awarded a five-year contract from the State of Michigan to perform independent cybersecurity assessments for various local governmental entities in coordination with Michigan’s Department of Technology, Management & Budget.
“Being one of the few companies selected by the State to initiate this ever increasingly important project assisting local units of government throughout Michigan is a great honor”, said Ed Plawecki, General Counsel of the Great Lakes practice and Director of Government Relations.
“We are honored to have been selected as an approved vendor to provide cybersecurity assessment and related services to State of Michigan entities participating in the MIDEAL program”, said Norman Comstock, Managing Director of UHY Consulting’s Technology, Risk, and Compliance Practice. “Cybersecurity risk is always changing. Local entities inherently have scarce resources, so cyber incidents like ransomware or other malware can significantly distract them from fulfilling their mission. Our approach is anchored in assessing and mitigating cybersecurity risk in a pragmatic manner and making recommendations that are sustainable,” added Comstock.
