Steve McCarty, chief executive officer of UHY Advisors, sat down with Edwin Warfield, CEO and editor in chief of Baltimore’s Citybiz for an in-depth interview on UHY’s growth, legacy and people; the firm's commitment to DEI and women’s initiatives, and a whole lot more. When asked about the recent growth and new service offerings McCarty offered this:
“In recent years we have really invested in UHY Consulting, it’s a team of 60-70 professionals with shop floor experience that specialize in digital transformations with platforms like Blackline and Planful.” “We’ve made a concerted effort to nationalize our practices, just last year we launched our client accounting and advisory services, using technology like Sage Intacct, bill.com, Expensify and others.” “Some of the recent specialty services we have added include a full research and development tax credit team, cost segregation and even SPAC support services.”
“We think of ourselves as a full service firm, focusing on all the services that the dynamic middle market needs.”
In speaking about recent acquisitions he said:
“We are looking for like-minded middle market CPA firms that want to provide great services to middle market businesses.” “Most recently we have had more firms join us, including our office in the gulf coast region in Houston; we are quickly growing that market and talking to a number of firms, but we have been making strategic hires and have already doubled the size of our office there in 18 months.”
