Beginning June 10, applications have opened for New York small business may receive grants of up to $50,000 for COVID-related expenses incurred between March 1, 2020, and April 21, 2021. Grants will be awarded to small and micro businesses and small not-for-profit independent arts and cultural organizations.
Eligible reimbursable expenses include:
Grants will be for a minimum award of $5,000 and a maximum of $50,000 based upon the business’s annual gross receipts from 2019. Applicants must not have qualified for business grant assistance programs under the federal American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 or any other available federal COVID-19 economic recovery or business assistance grant programs.
For applicants who did receive assistance from such federal programs, the amount received must not have been sufficient business assistance. Applicants who received PPP loans totaling $100,000 or less, EIDL Advance Grant of $10,000 or less, EIDL Supplemental Targeted Advance Grant of $5,000 or less, or the SBA Shuttered Venue Operator Grant are eligible.
