Deal Team M&A Insights Through Mid-2024
Read MoreLong Island Business News released their 2021 Business & Finance honorees, and on that list was UHY's own Nick Theos. Nick, a senior manager in the Long Island office, was highlighted as one of 27 leading financial experts whose exemplary performance has made a difference in the Long Island community, both professionally and through community service, nonprofit work, and philanthropy.
Nick is a level-headed professional with a strong work ethic and innate charisma, who can recognize and utilize the talents of his team to complete quality engagements efficiently. He has nearly a decade of experience completing audit and transaction services engagements with the technical background to match. For Nick, accounting is a profession that builds on itself, each new piece learned was part of a larger puzzle that allows for the solution of more complex problems. He has said that the endless learning and professional development facilitated by the interconnected nature of accounting knowledge makes it a fulfilling profession and makes him feel accomplished. It’s then, perhaps, no surprise Nick found his niche in audit where it’s a team of people working to achieve a larger goal, each person’s part serving as a base for the next piece until the engagement is complete.
Nick is an active member of the accounting community, serving as an advocate for the profession through his membership with the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and related committees. While many accountants see their membership to the NYSSCPA as a standard professional requirement alongside their CPA license, Nick is working to change that perception through his involvement as a local Nassau County NYSSCPA Board Member and the Nassau CPA Fest Committee member. As a board member, Nick helps organize annual professional and networking events for his peers, as well as committees to lead discussions on topics impacting the accounting industry.
