With over 30 years of experience in sales and use tax, corporate income tax, and tax technology roles, Richard Mannebach provides expertise in resolving his clients’ myriad state and local tax issues.
Prior to joining UHY, Rich worked at Monsanto Company as the Director of Sales and Use Tax, where his responsibilities included developing plans to minimize the company’s transaction tax burden, overseeing all aspects of transaction tax controversy, leading the implementation of Sabrix to automate the tax determination function, and working with other departments to structure site expansions to take advantage of tax incentives and ensure they occurred in the most tax efficient manner available.
Rich also spent a number of years working on the state and local income tax side, and was involved in the review of returns in almost every state. He also participated in various projects and initiatives to drive tax savings and reduce the effective tax rate. Additionally, Rich oversaw the implementation of Corptax to help automate the preparation of income tax returns. Before Monsanto, Rich spent several years as a manager at a Big Four firm, where he helped lead the St. Louis tax compliance team and served as a member of the National Plus3 Technology Steering Committee.
Rich has been on the client side for many years. His extensive corporate background imbues him with valuable insight into what really drives corporate decision-making, and allows him to better understand clients’ needs and limitations, making him a strong business partner to clients.
