Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Association Leadership Vacancy Temporarily Filled

1 Min Read

Governor Whitmer appointed Brian Hanna as the acting executive director of the Cannabis Regulatory Association (CRA), effective September 19, 2022. Hanna assumes the role temporarily as the State searches for someone to fill the role permanently, and brings five years of experience under former CRA executive director, Andrew Brisbo. His experience and knowledge of the industry will ensure that he continues the mission of the agency.

“Adding an executive director, even on an interim basis can bring guidance and stability,” said Todd Tigges, leader of the national cannabis practice. “With the position filled, focus can be turned back to the main goal, which is creating jobs, and strengthening the local economy.”

In this role he hopes to reconnect with industry stakeholders to see to it that there is a clear and concise regulatory framework for oversight of the cannabis industry to continue its growth in Michigan. With all that is happening in the industry, placing an executive director, even temporary is a welcome site for all industry pundits. Our team of cannabis specialists closely monitors all local and regional industry developments that may impact your business and the overall cannabis landscape.
