The Denver Broncos have broken ground on their new training facility and team headquarters. The New York City based firm Turner Construction announced the start of the project which will be ready to host fans for the 2026 football season.
The $175 million construction project will be managed by Turner Construction and is designed by HOK, OZ and Rockwell Group. This project is also 100% privately funded and this upgrade comes two years after the Broncos were bought by the Walton-Penner group for $4.65 billion. The Walton-Penner group consists of Rob Walton, the heir to Walmart, his daughter Carrie Walton-Penner, and his son-in-law Greg Penner.
The new training facility will consist of a three-story, 205,000 square foot training facility that is 30 percent larger than the existing structure. This new facility will be in Englewood, Colorado and will be found directly west of the existing facility. In total the Broncos headquarters will cover more than 320,000 square feet on twenty-six acres of land.
According to the Broncos the new facility will be designed in a “contemporary Colorado style.” The facility will also have new player spaces that will be larger by 21,000 square feet from the existing space. The players space includes a larger locker room, sports performance areas and meeting rooms. The second floor will house football operations and the third floor will house business operations, including staff that is currently based at the Broncos home field, Empower Field at Mile High Stadium. Damani Leech, the Broncos president said, “The combination of layout, collaborative spaces, flexibility and size will place the Broncos’ new training facility among the very best in all of sports.”
