Times are changing for some of the top accounting firms, and that means new leadership, according to the Orange County Business Journal. Among the region's newest accounting leaders is partner Crystal Li, who was named lead partner of the office in January.
As the leader of UHY's only West Coast office, Li leads her team of 21 employees through a variety of SPAC and IPO engagements throughout the year. On her recent success, Li commented, "That’s a good showcase that has led to more inquiries."
"Our practice has an Asian focus," she said. "Most of our employees speak fluent Chinese. We’re heavily serving the local Asian community." Her work is often with cross-border engagements, serving as a resource for both U.S. and Asian companies that wish to invest in other countries. Li noted that, "The way they communicate is different. Even though they all speak English, it could be completely different meanings. I’m always acting as a bridge between China and the U.S."
