Thomas R. Rey, Jr. Joins UHY's Columbia Office as Partner

Our Columbia office has announced that former CliftonLarsonAllen LLP partner Thomas R. Rey, Jr., CPA has joined UHY as a partner. Preceding the addition of Thomas Rey, three other CLA associates joined UHY earlier in FY ‘22. They are Jason Ostroski, Tim Rawal, and Ivana Ritz.

Rey has over 25 years of experience serving large state and local government defined contribution and defined benefit plans as well as large investment pools. He is actively involved in and a frequent speaker with the Public Pension Financial Form, the National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators, and the Government Finance Officers Association. His responsibilities at CLA included leading a team of national representatives who worked with large institutional investors and some of the largest defined contribution and defined benefit plans in the U.S.

In addition, Rey has performed research and consulting projects on the structure and operations of investment entities, passive foreign investment companies, and offshore commodity pools. He also managed several audits of private equity funds which included assessments of their investment valuation procedures and compliance procedures.

A certified public accountant, Rey holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Salisbury University.

Also joining UHY are three associates:

Jason Ostroski joins as principal in the Audit and Assurance Department, focusing on state and local government clients, in particular governmental retirement systems. With more than 18 years of experience, he is well-versed in serving public pension clients. A licensed CPA in the state of Maryland, he holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Grove City College, Grove City, PA.

Tim Rawal, now a senior manager in UHY's Audit & Assurance Department, has nearly 10 years of experience in public accounting. He has worked with clients in a variety of industries, primarily in higher education (private and public) and employee benefit/retirement plans (ERISA and governmental). A licensed CPA in the state of Colorado, he holds a master's degree in accounting from the University of Colorado, Denver, and a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota.

Ivana Ritz, a manager in the Audit & Assurance Department, has over seven years of experience in public accounting. She has provided audit and assurance services in a variety of industries including higher education, governments, not-for-profit and employee benefit plans (ERISA and governmental). A licensed CPA in the state of Colorado and the state of Maryland, she holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration & accounting from the University of Arizona.
