Long Island Business News' "Top 50 Women in Business" awards recognize Long Island’s top women professionals for their business acumen, mentoring and community involvement. The program’s honorees are selected by a judging committee to represent the most influential women in business, government and the nonprofit fields. Among the 50 women chosen for the 2023 awards was principal Kerry Santopietro.
Kerry Santopietro's leadership and dedication have been instrumental in building UHY's tax practice on Long Island from the ground up. Her insights have contributed to exceptional hiring – and retaining - of tax talent, instilling best tax practices, laying the foundation, and expanding the footprint of the tax practice. Just as importantly, Santopietro's contributions have helped to expand our roster of tax clients across a wide range of industries, including financial services, healthcare, energy, and telecom.
Santopietro’s wide range of expertise in tax consulting, due diligence, and compliance has been the key driver of her success as she continually proves to be a dynamic professional capable of tackling any challenge that comes her way. She loves to take on a new challenge, too – she has played an active role in the firm’s National Cannabis Practice as a frequent contributor to initiatives associated with this practice group. Recently, Santopietro took on the ambitious role of co-chairing the Global Standards Subcommittee for UHY’s burgeoning National Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) practice and is working toward her AICPA Certification in ESG.
A native of Long Island, Kerry graduated from St. John’s University and has experience working for a “Big 4” accounting firm before joining UHY five years ago. As a Long Islander with four children, Kerry is passionate about serving the community and spends time giving back.
