UHY Consulting Announces PCI PFI Cybersecurity Certification

4 Min Read

UHY Consulting today announced that it has attained Payment Card Industry Forensic Investigator (PCI PFI) certification. Administered by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) – which sets the operational and technical standards for organizations handling branded credit cards from significant schemes, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and JCB – this certification is one of the most prestigious in the payment card and cybersecurity industries and solidifies UHY's position as a leading cybersecurity consulting services provider.

With the average cost of a cybersecurity breach eclipsing $4.45 million, according to IBM, and the financial services industry becoming the second most targeted sector for cybercrime, cybersecurity continues to be a foremost business priority and pain point for financial services decision-makers. The PCI PFI program is designed to help companies that work with cardholder data tackle these emerging cybersecurity challenges head-on by providing organizations with a go-to resource of the most qualified PCI Forensic Investigators, who can identify, assess, and remediate cybersecurity incidents and breaches.

“Attaining the PCI PFI certification is not just an accomplishment, but a significant milestone in our constant endeavor to offer our clients the most robust and reliable security services,” said Norman Comstock, Managing Director of Cybersecurity Solutions. “Our focus has always been on providing top-tier service that reduces risk and inspires confidence. Achieving this certification confirms that we have the expertise and infrastructure in place to ensure our customers' payment card data is secure and well-protected."

With the PCI PFI certification, UHY Consulting further underscores its ability to help businesses of all sizes secure their payment card data and mitigate the risk of data breaches. Moreover, UHY Consulting is now authorized to conduct post-breach investigations, offering customers the peace of mind of knowing they have a PCI PFI-certified partner to turn to in times of need.

“At UHY Consulting, we are constantly trying to push ourselves to deliver the best possible outcomes and services to our clients,” said Luke Nelson, Managing Director of Cybersecurity Solutions. "Receiving the PCI PFI certification showcases that we are both on the right path to meeting this goal, and highlights our growth and reputation as one of the most trusted names in cybersecurity today, particularly in one of the most challenging cybersecurity sectors – financial services.”

UHY Consulting was assisted in its PCI PFI Program application by Grobstein Teeple LLP, a UHY affiliate company specializing in providing accounting and consulting services in a variety of areas, including cybersecurity. Through the process, UHY Consulting and Grobstein Teeple LLP showcased UHY Consulting’s broad expertise in conducting forensic investigations for various industries, and had meetings will all major card brands including American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and VISA. Grobstein Teeple LLP brings years of PCI experience, to include PFI experience and QSA expertise.

“The PFI certification and its rigorous application process demonstrate the value the Council places on protecting the payments ecosystem and ensuring only qualified forensics investigators join this community,” said Erik Rasmussen, Principal, Global Head of Cyber and Risk at Grobstein Teeple LLP. “In successfully completing the application process, UHY Consulting has demonstrated its vast knowledge of the payments and cybersecurity fields, and sophisticated operational skills – resulting in the achievement of this incredibly selective accreditation.”
