Professional Accomplishments & Opportunities

What has been your/your company’s most significant success over the past 12 months?

Over the past year, we’ve been recognized as one of the fastest-growing CPA firms in the nation. We strengthened our presence in the St. Louis market through the successful mergers with Botz Deal & Company and Sabino & Company. In addition to our growth, we’ve continued to earn accolades as one of the “Best Places to Work,” reflecting our commitment to both professional excellence and employee satisfaction.

What has you most excited about the future of your company or industry?

I’m most excited about the continued growth trajectory of our firm. Expansion into new markets creates valuable opportunities for both our clients and our employees. It’s rewarding to see how strategic growth translates into broader impact and elevated service.

If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be and why?

The accounting profession would benefit from a refreshed public perception. Too often, accountants are viewed narrowly as number crunchers or tax preparers. In reality, we serve as trusted business advisors throughout the entire lifecycle of a client’s business—from startup and growth through succession planning and retirement.

What’s the toughest business challenge you’ve had to overcome?

Navigating the COVID-19 pandemic was one of the most challenging periods in my career. Balancing employee safety with the responsibility of serving our clients felt like walking a tightrope. I’m proud that our firm rose to the occasion—supporting our people, staying close to our clients, and growing both our headcount and our business during a time of great uncertainty.

What’s a risk you took in business that didn’t pan out—but taught you something valuable?

In my experience, unsuccessful ventures often stemmed from a lack of full commitment. I’ve learned that true success requires unwavering focus and dedication. Without that, even a promising idea may fall short.

What advice would you give to the next generation of St. Louis entrepreneurs or leaders?

Stay open-minded and embrace change. I’ve found that being adaptable often leads to personal and professional growth. Change can be uncomfortable, but it usually presents the greatest opportunities.
