UHY today announced a merger with Salisbury-based TGM Group LLC (TGM), a full-service certified public accounting firm serving the Mid-Atlantic region.
TGM, a regional accounting firm with strong ties to the Delmarva Peninsula, is comprised of five partners and approximately 30 accountants, auditors, business consultants and tax specialists. The firm provides financial accounting, attestation, tax advisory, retirement & estate planning, business consulting, SEC public company financial reporting, business valuation and fraud investigative services to businesses, organizations, institutions, and individuals.
TGM originated in 1993 as Trice & Geary, LLC after Tom Trice and Herb Geary purchased the Eastern Shore practice of C.W. Amos and Company. Through organic growth and new partnerships, the firm changed its name to TGM Group LLC in 2009.
Joining UHY as Managing Directors will be Herbert J. Geary, III, CPA, CGMA, CGFM; Roy J. Geiser, CPA; Chris A. Hall, CPA, CFE; Ronald W. Hickman, CPA; and Mark A. Welsh, CPA, MBA. Daniel W. Ensor, CPA and Audrey V. McKenrick, CPA will be joining as principals.
“Having served clients in the region for nearly 30 years, it was very important that we find the right fit as we explored potential partners in the industry,” said Hall. “With UHY, our client agreements and planning approaches remain unchanged, ensuring a seamless transition for clients who can now benefit from the added expertise and services offered through UHY."
Hall said TGM practices in industries UHY currently serves in the Mid-Atlantic region, including construction, local government, manufacturing, not-for-profits, and wholesale and distribution. The merger significantly increases UHY's attest practice in the Mid-Atlantic
“TGM Group is well known for its strong client relationships, exceptional client service, and its outstanding team,” said Harold Mohn, Regional Managing Director. "This addition is part of UHY’s growth strategy to add quality firms and partners in the Mid-Atlantic region as we expand our footprint and gain critical mass to better serve our clients."
UHY is the 31st largest accounting firm in the U.S. with 25 offices and more than 1,200 team members. In addition to the TGM merger, UHY announced today a merger in its Midwest region with the firm LWBJ, a leading audit, accounting, tax, consulting, and mergers/acquisitions firm with two Iowa offices—one in Des Moines and the other in Ames. In November 2021, UHY announced its expansion in Kansas City with the merger with House Park Dobratz Wiebler. Additional mergers for UHY are expected in 2022.
