Mehmet Sengulen Named 2022 Power Accountant

2 Min Read

The 2022 Power List Accounting put out by the Long Island Business News recognizes the accounting professionals who go above and beyond their job to make Long Island better, both on and off the clock. These accountants are dedicated to their profession, helping businesses to define their strengths and strengthen their weaknesses, build profits and ensure a more promising future for employees, investors and business owners. In addition to their status as a trusted advisor, the accountants on the list are leaders, people lovers, and high-energy professionals who spend their spare time in a diverse array of activities.

As the office managing partner of the Long Island office, Mehmet Sengulen is no stranger to success. Under his leadership, our presence on Long Island has grown from 14 to 60 professionals within just three years of opening, and amid a pandemic, no less. His ability to grow and retain a cohesive team composed of some of the most talented professionals is a testament to his investment in and commitment to making UHY an employer of choice on Long Island, further evidenced by the firm being named one of the Best Places to Work by Long Island Business News.

Named an Emerging Leader by The M&A Advisor, A Rising Star by The Smart CEO Magazine and a 40 Under 40 by Long Island Business News, Sengulen continues to reach ever higher heights, including managing more than 80 clients across a range of industries and completing over 170 transactions since taking the helm of the firm’s Long Island office. His mentorship of his team manifests itself through networking opportunities, recommendations for community and volunteer leadership positions and guidance regarding professional and personal development.

Additionally, Sengulen serves on the board of Easter Seals NY on Long Island, an organization dedicated to providing a variety of services to veterans and people living with disabilities. As a board member, he helps organize an annual golf event to fund the organization’s activities. All proceeds from fundraising efforts go directly into Long Island projects that are designed to uplift the community.
