Mehmet Sengulen has twenty years of diversified public and private accounting experience with two Fortune 100 public companies and two Big Four accounting firms, where he worked with clients in the manufacturing and distribution, technology, and oil and gas industries. During his tenure in private industry, Mehmet specialized in the compliance and reporting requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 for two global companies and participated in the process level integration for a multi-billion-dollar merger.
Mehmet is a subject matter expert for the SEC practice as well as one of the leaders of the Technology and Software Industry Practice Group. He specializes in buy side and sell side advisory services for his serial acquirer and private equity clients for a full spectrum of transactions ranging from acquisitions, divestitures, carve outs and financing transactions.
Mehmet performs audits and reviews of public and private companies and assists publicly owned and privately held companies in designing and enhancing their internal controls and related documentation in connection with their compliance with various rules and regulations, including Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. He facilitates training courses on various accounting topics, including financial statement preparation, stock-based compensation, income taxes, multi-location audits, and complex financial instruments. He also works closely with startups in a range of industries through their lifecycle, and guides them through navigating the complexities of various compliance requirements.
In 2014, he was honored by SmartCEO Magazine with their Accounting Rising Star award. In 2019, he was named an 'Emerging Leader' by The M&A Advisor. In 2020, he received the Long Island Business News 40 Under 40 Award.
