Background
Chris Peterson leads the Fraud and Forensic Accounting Group in the Great Lakes offices. He specializes in fraud investigation, forensic accounting and expert witness services for both the private and the government sector. Chris has also supervised internal investigations involving corruption and governance concerns. He also has extensive experience with financial statement audits, accounting internal controls, tax planning and tax return reporting matters.
Chris has served as a testifying expert for fraud, audit and accounting matters in Local, State and Federal courts and also as a Court-appointed forensic accountant. He has been the defense expert in numerous cases involving professional malpractice claims against auditors and accountants.
Chris is a frequent lecturer at MICPA continuing education seminars on the subjects of fraud risk and auditing malpractice concerns, and a frequent speaker at other professional conferences for banking, labor/employment, and legal associations.
