Background
Heather Benson is the leader of the Cost Segregation Practice with 21 years of combined experience working in cost estimating the cost segregation industry. Since launching her career in cost segregation, she has completed over 800 studies of all property types, including multi-family residential homes, assisted living/nursing home facilities, mobile park homes, hotels, mixed-used facilities, retail shopping centers, among others.
Heather has completed projects that qualify for quality improvement property (QIP) and bonus depreciation, with experience with small- and large-scale projects ranging from $1m - $100m+ in depreciable basis costs. She has been involved in all aspects of cost segregation studies, including the estimate of benefit analysis and consultation, physical on-site inspection, real and personal property estimation, engineered drawing review, basis reconciliation, and final report deliverables.
