Michael Burke has nearly twenty-two years of audit, accounting, and business advisory experience, with significant knowledge and experience in many industries, and across multiple practices for both domestic and foreign entities.
Michael services both publicly owned and privately held companies in various industries, with significant experience in directing and coordinating audits of companies with multiple domestic and foreign subsidiaries. He advises on the design and effectiveness of internal control over financial reporting (ICFR). Additionally, he performs audits of public companies’ ICFR in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley, and assists companies and organizations in designing and enhancing their ICFR and related documentation in connection with their compliance with various rules and regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley. Michael also performs transactional services, including due diligence procedures relating to potential acquisitions. He directs audit services performed in connection with capital raises, including initial and secondary offerings.
Michael is an approved peer reviewer with experience assisting public accounting firms through the peer-review process. He facilitates training courses on various accounting topics, including financial statement preparation, stock-based compensation, income taxes, multi-location audits, and complex financial instruments.
