Nelly Gizdova provides attestation and consulting services to sponsors of qualified employee benefit plans, not-for-profit organizations, and companies in a variety of industries, including government contractors, information technology, construction, and engineering.
Nelly is the leader of UHY Mid-Atlantic’s Employee Benefit Plans Group. She regularly advises her clients on Department of Labor (DOL) and IRS regulations as they apply to employee benefit plans, as well as on the development of policies and procedures to meet their fiduciary responsibilities. She works closely with plan administrators in meeting DOL and IRS compliance requirements, preventing plan qualifications failures, filing of Form 5500, and provides assistance to plan sponsors undergoing DOL or IRS benefit plan audits. She has extensive experience auditing employee benefit plans (including 401(k), 403(b), Employee Stock Ownership Plans, defined benefit plans and health and welfare plans) with assets ranging from $500,000 to over $150 million.
Additionally, Nelly is responsible for conducting various attest services including financial audits and Single Audits under OMB Uniform Guidance for non-profit organizations, as well as audits, reviews, and compilations of financial statements of privately held companies. She works closely with her clients providing technical review and evaluation of contract requirements and assistance with the development and analysis of internal control practices and procedures.
Nelly contributes regularly to UHY newsletters and assists with UHY’s annual internal inspections, and she’s active in the firm’s WISE program. She is a frequent speaker and instructor on various employee benefit plan topics at the MACPA Employee Benefit Plan Conference.
